125th Anniversary
Anniversary Celebration
With great glory-to-God jubilation, Zion Evangelical-Lutheran of Detroit commemorated her 125th Anniversary of the Founding of the Congregation and the 75th Anniversary of the Dedication of the current Church on Sunday, May 18, 2008, with a celebration of the Lutheran Mass at 4:00 p.m. Special organ and choral meditation music preceded the Service, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Celebrant for the occasion was the Rev. Richard Zeile, former Associate Pastor of Zion; Preacher was the Rev. Ernest Wendt, former Day School Teacher in our midst. Other Ministers and former Summer Vicars also participated. Featured choirs were the Child of Christ Lutheran School Choir from Hartland and the all-male Lutheran Choralaires. Following Holy Mass an Anniversary Dinner was held in the Parish Hall (gymnasium).
