Catechesis

Catechesis is "Instruction in the Christian Faith." Catechesis begins when one inquires about membership in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church; yet it continues in various forms throughout the life of a Christian.

Those desiring membership at Zion Church are asked to speak with the Pastor. In order to receive the Sacrament of our Lord's Supper, instruction in the Christian Faith according to the Scriptures and Luther's Small Catechism is necessary. There is no fee or obligation for Instruction.

Those who are already members of Zion mature and deepen in their understanding of the Faith and their love for the Lord and neighbor by attending Holy Mass and, as schedules permit, partaking of one or more of the following forums for learning by ongoing catechesis.

Adult Bible Class, held each Sunday after Mass in the undercroft.
